The weather in Austria will remain changeable. However, according to the forecast from the meteorologists at Geosphere Austria, it should become increasingly milder from the weekend onwards. On Sunday, temperatures of up to 22 degrees are already possible, and on Tuesday, even 24 degrees will be reached in some places.
This is how the weather will start at the weekend
On Friday, a persistent disturbance influence will result in mainly dense cloud cover. Sunshine will be rare, most likely in the west and north of Austria. Especially in Tyrol, Vorarlberg, and south of the main Alpine ridge, there will initially be widespread rain showers.
As the day progresses, the showers will increasingly shift to the western Alpine peaks. Early temperatures will be between five and eleven degrees, with daytime highs reaching ten to 17 degrees.
Scary Saturday, sunnier Sunday
Many regions, especially in the lowlands, will start the weekend with a friendly start. However, during the day, spring clouds will increase, and isolated rain showers will occur in the mountains and hills of Salzburg, Upper Austria, and western Lower Austria. The snow line will rise to between 1,400 and 1,900 meters. Temperatures will rise from one to nine degrees in the morning to daytime highs of between twelve and nineteen degrees.
Sunday will be sunnier and much milder—at least in the eastern half of the country, where it will often remain dry all day. In the west, denser cloud fields will gather during the day, causing short rain showers in places. Early temperatures will range from three to ten degrees, reaching sixteen to twenty-two degrees in the afternoon.
Intermittent showers at the start of the week too
On Monday, the beginning of the week, intermittent rain showers are to be expected on the northern side of the Alps, while in the south, the morning will still be quite sunny. From midday, spring clouds with partly thundery showers will develop throughout Austria. The wind will be mostly weak to moderate from westerly directions, locally brisk. Temperatures will range from five to twelve degrees in the morning to eighteen to twenty-three degrees in the afternoon.
Temperatures will peak on Tuesday at up to twenty-four degrees. From Vorarlberg to southern Burgenland, however, it will remain unsettled with repeated rain showers. The weather in the north-east will be much more stable and sunny. The wind will be moderate to brisk from west to north. Early temperatures will be between seven and thirteen degrees, with daytime highs between seventeen and twenty-four degrees.
